Sports Concussions

A sports concussion is a type of traumatic brain injury caused by a blow to the head or body that shakes the brain within the skull. It can impact various aspects of a person's physical and mental wellbeing, ranging from mild symptoms like dizziness to serious issues such as memory loss. Sports concussions are becoming increasingly common, and it is important to diagnose and manage them appropriately as soon as possible to reduce the risk of further complications. Diagnosis typically involves a physical examination, neurological assessment, and imaging tests such as MRI scans. Treatment often involves rest and time off from physical activity, as well as the use of medications to reduce the severity of symptoms.
