Physiatry
Physiatry is an important field of medicine and an integral part of health care. It is the medical specialty of physical medicine and rehabilitation, which covers the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of injuries or illness that affects movement and functioning. Physiatrists focus on treating patients with disabilities, including musculoskeletal, neurological, and cardiovascular disorders. Common treatments may include physical and occupational therapy, as well as medications and specialized devices. Its goal is to improve the patient's quality of life by relieving pain, restoring function, and helping the patient regain independence. Physiatrists also provide guidance on preventing future medical problems.
