Muscle Cramps
Muscle cramps are sudden, involuntary contractions of one or more of your muscles. They can range from mild twitches to severe pain. They can affect any muscle in your body, but are commonly felt in your legs and feet. Muscle cramps are often triggered by intense physical activity, as well as improper nutrition, medications, dehydration, and certain medical conditions. Treatment for muscle cramps typically involves stretching the muscle, massage, and warm compresses. In more serious cases, prescription medications may be necessary. Muscle cramps can be an indicator of underlying medical conditions, so seeking medical attention is recommended if cramps become frequent or severe.
