Stomach Cancer
Stomach cancer, also known as gastric cancer, is a type of cancer that develops in the lining of the stomach - a hollow, muscular organ just above the small intestine. Stomach cancer can lead to symptoms such as abdominal pain, weight loss, fatigue and nausea. If not treated early, it can be fatal. Stomach cancer is one of the most common cancer types worldwide with over a million new cases diagnosed every year. Although the exact cause is not known, risk factors such as smoking, a family history and poor diet can increase the risk of developing stomach cancer. Early detection is key for successful treatment, and preventive measures such as a healthy diet including plenty of fruits and vegetables, as well as regular doctor's visits, are essential for reducing the risk of stomach cancer.
