Liver Function Tests
Liver Function Tests, or LFTs, are a group of blood tests that measure the levels of enzymes, proteins, and other substances that are produced by the liver. They are used to detect and diagnose liver-related diseases and conditions, such as liver injury and cirrhosis, as well as to monitor the effectiveness of treatments for them. LFTs can also detect viral infections, such as hepatitis, that might cause inflammation and damage to the liver. As a result, these tests are an important tool for healthcare practitioners in diagnosing and monitoring the health of the liver.
