Large Intestine
The large intestine, also called the colon, is a crucial part of the human digestive system. It is a long, tube-like structure that absorbs water and electrolytes from digested food. It also houses various microbes that help with digestion and the absorption of nutrients. The large intestine plays an important role in the digestive process by letting the body store and remove waste, as well as supporting the absorption of essential nutrients from food. It is also responsible for conditioning the feces before they are excreted from the body. Without its vital functions, the human body would be unable to properly digest and absorb nutrients from food.
