Clonorchis Sinensis

Clonorchis sinensis (also known as Chinese liver fluke) is a parasitic flatworm that primarily affects humans, cats, dogs, and pigs. It is found in parts of Asia, such as South Korea, China, and Vietnam. It typically enters the body through raw or undercooked fish or shellfish, and then migrates to the liver and gallbladder. Once there, C. sinensis can cause inflammation, tissue damage, and a range of other symptoms. It can even lead to more serious conditions such as liver cancer and cirrhosis. Due to its health risks, clonorchis sinensis is a key area of focus in global public health efforts, and preventive measures including cooking food properly and avoiding raw fish are strongly advised.
