Angiosarcoma
Angiosarcoma is a rare and aggressive form of cancer that develops in the cells that line the walls of blood vessels and lymphatic vessels. It can arise in any part of the body and is most commonly found in the head, neck, or skin. When angiosarcoma is not caught early and treated, it can be fatal. Treatment usually involves surgery, chemotherapy, and/or radiation therapy. Early diagnosis is key to improving survival, as the cancer can spread quickly. Research is ongoing to improve the understanding and treatment of angiosarcoma, in an effort to improve patient outcomes.
