Vertebrae
Vertebrae are small bones that make up the spine in humans and other animals. They are responsible for protecting the spinal cord and providing support for the body. The vertebrae also allow for movement such as bending and twisting. Without them, our bodies would be stiff and unable to move properly. Vertebrae play an important role in providing us with a stable and flexible backbone. They also help us to sustain posture, balance, and protect us from shocks and impacts. In some cases, vertebrae may become damaged due to injury or disease, which can result in serious health problems. To diagnose and treat diseases of the vertebrae, trained medical professionals use imaging and other diagnostic tools, such as X-rays, MRI scans and CT scans.
