Thorax

The thorax is the upper part of the body in humans and other animals, located between the neck and the abdomen. It encompasses the rib cage, the sternum, and the thoracic wall, which includes the intercostal muscles. The thorax is an essential part of the human anatomy, providing protection to the vital organs and providing the muscles and bones necessary for movement. The thorax is also responsible for breathing and respiration, assisting in the transport of oxygen and nutrients throughout the body. This organ is also the site of many important organs including the heart, lungs, and other vital organs. In addition, the thorax is involved in the regulation and production of hormones. In medical contexts, the thorax is also important for diagnosing and treating a wide range of medical conditions, including respiratory and cardiovascular diseases.
