Spinal Fusion
Spinal fusion is a surgical procedure in which selected vertebrae in the spine are fused or joined together to improve spinal stability. It is mainly used to treat conditions such as herniated discs, spondylolisthesis, scoliosis, and degenerative disc disease. Spinal fusion is a significant procedure because it helps to reduce painful symptoms caused by spinal instability and corrects the abnormal curvature of the spine caused by these conditions. The procedure can also decrease the pressure on the spinal cord, nerves, and spinal column, thus improving an individual's quality of life.
