Lyme Disease
Lyme disease is a bacterial infection caused by Borrelia Burgdorferi bacteria which is spread through the bite of certain types of ticks. Once in the body, the bacteria migrate to different parts of the body and cause infections in the joints, skin, brain, and heart. Symptoms of Lyme disease include a bull’s eye rash, fever, headaches, fatigue, and muscle and joint pain. If left untreated, the condition can develop into a chronic and debilitating illness. Lyme disease is one of the most common tick-borne diseases in the United States and Europe and can be prevented through awareness and taking appropriate preventive measures. Early diagnosis and treatment with antibiotics is the most effective way to manage the condition and prevent long-term health complications.
