Glioma
Glioma is a type of brain tumor that arises from glial cells; glial cells are the supportive cells of the brain and spinal cord, which provide the physical framework that holds neurons in place. Gliomas are the most common type of brain tumor and can occur at any age, most commonly in adults and rarely in children. They can be fast-growing or slow-growing, benign or malignant. Treatment options vary depending on the individual case and may include surgery, chemotherapy, and/or radiation therapy. Early diagnosis and treatment can improve the prognosis for individuals and lead to better quality of life.
