Abdomen
The abdomen (also known as the belly) is a body cavity located in the lower section of the torso that contains most of the organs and structures of body’s digestive system, such as the stomach, small intestine, large intestine, and several other organs. It also houses important organs related to other functions, such as the pancreas and the kidneys. Due to its many important functions, the abdomen plays a critical role in the body’s ability to process and eliminate waste, absorb and digest food, and store energy. Abdominal pain, bloating, and nausea are all common symptoms of abdominal problems, and can indicate a number of digestive and digestive-related conditions. The abdomen is a key part of the human body, and its health and functioning are an indicator of overall health.
