Sleepwalking Disorder
Sleepwalking disorder is a type of parasomnia characterized by a person engaging in complex behaviors - such as walking, talking, or even cooking - while asleep. People who suffer from this disorder are usually unaware of their actions and not in control of them, and therefore, may be at risk of harming themselves or others around them. It can occur at any age but is most common in children and adolescents. Treatment may include sleep hygiene, medication, and psychotherapy. This disorder can be disruptive and dangerous, and so it is important to seek medical advice if there are any concerns.
