Sleep Bruxism
Sleep Bruxism is a type of sleep-related movement disorder characterized by unconscious grinding or clenching of the teeth during sleep. It can cause permanent damage to the teeth and lead to pain in the jaw and face. It is often accompanied by awakening with headaches, earaches, and facial pain. Treatment often includes the use of a night guard, cognitive-behavioral therapy, relaxation techniques, and medications. Improved diagnosis and treatment of sleep bruxism can lead to improved sleep quality and reduce pain and damage to the teeth and jaw.
