Sleep Apnoea
Sleep Apnoea is a condition where the airways temporarily close during sleep, causing people to stop breathing for a short period of time. It can cause serious health risks, including stroke, heart attack, high blood pressure, and diabetes. Treatment for sleep apnoea typically involves a range of lifestyle changes, such as weight loss, avoiding alcohol and caffeine before bed, and using nasal decongestants. More severe cases may require the use of special devices such as Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) machines or Oral Appliance Therapy (OAT). These treatments help keep the airways open and reduce the risk of serious health complications from sleep apnoea.
