Restless Leg Syndrome
Restless Leg Syndrome (RLS) is a neurological disorder characterised by an irresistible urge to move the legs, usually accompanied by uncomfortable sensations such as tingling and crawling. It can cause difficulty sleeping, which can have an effect on daily activities. RLS can affect anyone of any age, but is more common amongst middle-aged and older people. Its cause is currently unknown, however experts believe it can be due to genetic, chemical or hormonal imbalances. Treatment options include lifestyle modifications, medications and physical therapies, with the aim of reducing the symptoms of RLS and improving the quality of life for those affected by the disorder.
