Psychiatric Disorders
Psychiatric disorders are mental illnesses that affect a person’s thoughts, feelings, behaviour, and ability to lead a normal life. These conditions can range from mild to severe, and may be caused by biological, environmental, or psychological factors. Psychiatric disorders can interfere with a person’s ability to work, go to school, socialize, and maintain relationships. Some common examples of psychiatric disorders include anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and schizophrenia. Treatment may include therapy, medication, and lifestyle modifications in order to help improve the person’s quality of life. Without proper treatment, these disorders can worsen, leading to potentially serious complications. It is important to seek help from a qualified mental health professional if you or someone you know is struggling with a psychiatric disorder.
