Parkinson's Diseases
Parkinson's disease is a degenerative neurological disorder that affects movement and balance. It is caused by the death of nerve cells in the part of the brain which controls movement. Symptoms usually begin gradually, with uncontrollable tremors or trembling, stiffness in the limbs, slowed movement and difficulty with coordination. Though there is currently no cure for Parkinson's, medications and therapies can help manage symptoms and improve quality of life. Research into the causes and treatments of this condition continues, in the hopes of someday being able to slow, stop, or even reverse its progression.
