Mania

Mania is a mental disorder marked by periods of elevated mood or energy and increased goal-directed behavior. Mania is the most severe form of mood disorder, typically found in people with bipolar disorder and depression. Common symptoms of mania include euphoric mood, racing thoughts, impulsivity, irritability, and excessive talking. Left untreated, mania can cause serious problems in a person's personal, professional and social life. Mania is usually treated with medications, such as mood stabilizers, antipsychotics, and antidepressants, along with psychotherapy, lifestyle changes and self-care strategies. By seeking treatment, a person can manage their manic episodes and improve their quality of life.
