Skin Cancer Immunology
Skin cancer is an abnormal growth of cells in the skin caused by an abnormal response of the body’s immune system. Immunology is the study of the body’s immune system, which helps to protect the body against infection and disease. In skin cancer immunology, researchers investigate how the immune system contributes to the development of skin cancer, and how immunotherapy can be used to treat it. Immunotherapy is a type of therapy that uses the body’s own immune system to fight cancer, and it has shown promise in some cases of skin cancer. By understanding how the immune system works in relation to skin cancer, researchers can continue to develop treatments and cures for this debilitating disease.
