Skin
graft A skin graft is a procedure that involves taking a piece of healthy skin from one part of the body and surgically transferring it to another part of the body to act as a cover or a replacement for a damaged part of skin. The graft takes over the function of the damaged skin and helps to cover up and heal wounds and other injuries. Skin grafts are used to help heal severe burns, traumatic injuries, and skin ulcers. Because the grafts provide an added layer of protection, they can prevent infection and help speed up the healing process. Skin grafts have become a common and highly successful treatment for many skin-related issues.
