Metastatic Melanoma

Metastatic melanoma is a type of skin cancer that is found in the cells of the skin, often originating from a mole. It is characterized by the spread of cancerous cells from the original site to other parts of the body, such as the lymph nodes, lungs, or brain. Early detection is key to successful treatment, as it is a very aggressive form of cancer with limited treatment options if it has advanced. There are several treatments available for metastatic melanoma, including immunotherapy, targeted therapies, chemotherapy, and radiation. The best outcome is typically achieved when treatment is started early, as the cancer may have already spread. As such, regular skin checks and prompt treatment should be sought.
