Synovial Fluid

Synovial fluid is a thick, viscous liquid found inside the joints of the body that acts as a lubricant and shock absorber. It helps to reduce friction between the bones and enables smooth, painless movement. It is a complex mixture of proteins, salts, and other metabolites that provide nutrients to the cartilage, resulting in healthy, strong joints. As well as providing cushioning, synovial fluid helps to support the immune system, protecting against inflammation and joint degradation. Synovial fluid is essential for optimal joint functioning and is vital for maintaining joint health.
