Spondylitis
Spondylitis is an inflammation of the vertebrae (bones of the spine) and the surrounding tendons and ligaments. It is a type of inflammatory arthritis that affects the spine and sometimes other joints in the body. Symptoms include pain and stiffness in the back and neck, limited flexibility, fatigue and headaches. If left untreated, spondylitis can result in permanent deformity and disability. Treatment for spondylitis may include a combination of medications, physical therapy, and lifestyle changes. Early diagnosis and treatment of the condition can prevent more serious complications.
