Duck Tolling Retriever The Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever is a medium-sized gun dog bred in Canada to hunt waterfowl. It is the smallest of the retrieving breeds and is known for its intelligent and active nature. Tollers are known for their bright reddish-golden coat, white chest and tail tip, and webbed feet, which allow them to swim with ease. They are also renowned for their ability to lure ducks in close to the hunter by “tolling” or playing near the shoreline. This breed is often used as a therapy dog and excels in many canine sports such as agility, obedience, and flyball. It is a breed of energy and intelligence, making it the perfect companion for an active family and a loyal and faithful friend.
