Myoclonic Seizures
Myoclonic seizures are a type of seizure characterized by brief, involuntary, jerky movements of one or more muscles. These seizures typically occur in people with epilepsy, although they also occur in people without known neurological conditions. Myoclonic seizures are often the most dangerous form of seizures and can cause potentially serious injury or death. They must be treated promptly to reduce the risk of injury. Myoclonic seizures may be treated with medications, lifestyle modifications, and supportive care. Early diagnosis and treatment can improve the quality of life for people living with myoclonic seizures.
