Muscle Mass Index
The Muscle Mass Index (MMI) is an important measure of an individual's total body muscle mass. It is calculated by taking the individual's body weight and dividing it by the square of their height. The resulting value is then compared to an age- and gender-specific reference range to determine if the individual has a healthy muscle mass. MMI is a useful tool for monitoring muscle mass changes over time and can help in the early detection of muscle wasting due to nutrition deficiencies, aging, or chronic diseases. It is also used in the assessment of athletes and bodybuilders to monitor the development of their musculoskeletal system and to evaluate the effectiveness of their training.
