Electromyography

Electromyography (EMG) is a diagnostic medical test for evaluating and recording the electrical activity produced by skeletal muscles. EMG can detect muscle disorders such as muscular dystrophy and nerve damage. It is also used to monitor the health of muscles and nerves, diagnose neuromuscular diseases, assess muscle function during surgery, identify musculoskeletal injuries, and develop rehabilitative treatment plans. EMG helps doctors understand how the nervous system is functioning and can be useful in diagnosing a variety of conditions that affect muscle movement and nerve function.
