Dystonia

Dystonia is a neurological disorder characterized by involuntary muscle contractions that cause abnormal postures, movements, and repetitive motions. It can affect any part of the body, but is most commonly observed in the face, neck, and limbs. Dystonia can have a major impact on a person's quality of life due to the associated pain and disability. Treatment typically involves the use of botulinum toxin injections, medications, and physical or occupational therapy. In severe cases, surgery may be used to reduce muscle spasms. Early diagnosis and treatment of dystonia can help to improve symptoms, reduce pain, and improve mobility.
