Convulsions

Convulsions are sudden, involuntary muscle contractions that can cause a person to shake, jerk, or have stiffened muscles. They typically last from a few seconds to a few minutes and can occur because of a variety of causes, including physical illness, fever, emotional stress, or even seizures. In some cases, convulsions may indicate serious medical conditions and can be life-threatening. Appropriate medical attention should be sought for any convulsions, even if the cause is not immediately clear.
