Classification of Muscles

Muscles are components of the body that facilitate movement. Classification of muscles is a process of categorizing muscles based on structure, function and location. This classification is important as it helps to better understand the nature of muscles, their roles and the interconnections between them. It also aids in understanding disease states and diseases associated with the muscular system. Classification of muscles can be used for clinical purposes such as diagnosis, assessment, and treatment of conditions that affect the muscular system. Furthermore, classification of muscles can be used to better understand the anatomy and physiology of the muscular system and to guide anatomical research.
