Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (CTS) is a common condition caused by compression of the median nerve as it travels through the wrist. Symptoms often include pain, tingling, numbness, and weakness in the hand and wrist. CTS is a significant cause of disability and is the most common nerve entrapment syndrome of the upper extremity. Early diagnosis and treatment are essential for the best possible outcome. Treatments may include physical therapy, braces, lifestyle modifications, and, in some cases, surgery. Managing CTS can improve quality of life, decrease pain and disability, and reduce the risk of further complications.
