Sinusitis and Asthma

Sinusitis and asthma are two common conditions that have many similarities and often occur together or are confused with one another. Sinusitis is an inflammation of the sinuses that can lead to nasal congestion, sinus pain, and difficulty breathing. Asthma is a long-term inflammatory disorder of the airways, which can lead to episodes of difficulty breathing, chest tightness, coughing, and wheezing. Both conditions can be triggered by environmental irritants such as air pollution, dust, and pet dander. Treatments for both sinusitis and asthma depend on the cause of the condition, and may include medications, lifestyle changes, and environmental modification. There is a growing body of evidence to suggest that managing both conditions together can improve symptoms and quality of life.
