Osteomyelitis

Osteomyelitis is an infection of the bone or bone marrow caused by bacteria or fungi. It can lead to bone and joint damage, as well as damage to the surrounding soft tissue. Without prompt and effective treatment, it can lead to complications such as bone deformities, loss of limb function, and chronic pain. Treatment typically includes antibiotics, surgery, and physical therapy. Early diagnosis and treatment are key to preventing long-term complications.
