Microbiome

The microbiome is a collection of microorganisms, including bacteria, archaea, fungi, and viruses, which live in and on our bodies. It plays an important role in the regulation of many bodily systems, and its composition can affect human health. The microbiome has been linked to conditions such as obesity, inflammatory bowel disease, and type 2 diabetes. Researchers are exploring the potential of modulating the microbiome to treat and prevent these conditions. Recent studies are also investigating ways to use the microbiome to improve food production, enrich soils, and combat antibiotic resistance.
