Recovery-oriented Services
Recovery-oriented services are an emerging approach to mental health care with the goal of helping people with mental illness lead meaningful and productive lives. These services focus on strengths and goals, rather than simply on symptoms, and aim to help people construct meaningful lives and meaningful roles in their communities. They rely on a holistic approach, often involving multiple modes of intervention and support, in order to help people increase autonomy, access meaningful roles in society, and build resilience. They often involve peer support, family support, employment support, housing support, and other services. Recovery-oriented services, due to their holistic approach, are increasingly being recognised as a best practice in the mental health field, providing people with the opportunity to live meaningful lives and reach their full potential.
