Streptomycin

Streptomycin is an antibiotic used to treat a wide range of bacterial infections. It was the first clinically approved antibiotic for tuberculosis and is also used to treat other serious infections including endocarditis, plague and tularemia. In addition to its use in human medicine, it is also widely used in veterinary medicine for a variety of diseases. Streptomycin is important for its ability to kill Gram-negative bacteria, which are particularly resistant to other antibiotics. This makes streptomycin a powerful and effective treatment for bacterial infections that are difficult to treat. It is also used in plant agriculture to protect crops from bacterial diseases.
