Silicosis
Silicosis is a lung disease caused by the inhalation of silica dust. It is mainly seen in occupations that involve rock drilling, sandblasting, and masonry. Long-term exposure to silica dust can lead to symptoms of the disease such as coughing and shortness of breath, as well as the formation of nodules in the lungs, which can cause serious respiratory problems. It can sometimes even lead to death. However, proper safety guidelines, such as dust control and proper respiratory protection, can help to reduce the risk of developing silicosis. In addition, early diagnosis and treatment can help to reduce the severity of the condition.
