Respiratory Therapist
A Respiratory Therapist is a healthcare professional who provides specialized care for patients with breathing and other cardiopulmonary disorders. They use a variety of diagnostic tests to evaluate patients’ respiratory status, and administer treatments and therapies to restore or maintain the health of the respiratory system. Respiratory Therapists play an essential role in the treatment of many medical conditions, such as Asthma, Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis, and sleep apnea, and have become an important part of the overall healthcare system. They also provide emergency services, such as cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), mechanical ventilation, and various types of artificial respiration. The goal of a Respiratory Therapist is to ensure the optimal respiratory health of their patients and to promote healthy lifestyle choices.
