Respiratory Rehabilation

Respiratory rehabilitation is a multidisciplinary approach to improve breathing and overall quality of life for those living with respiratory diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), cystic fibrosis (CF), asthma, and other conditions. The goal of the program is to help individuals increase their ability to perform daily activities and maintain independence by developing breathing techniques, and improving strength, endurance and overall fitness. Benefits include improved quality of life, reduced shortness of breath, reduced risk of hospital admissions and improved levels of activity. Respiratory rehabilitation programs may include exercise training, education on breathing techniques, and psychosocial support.
