Mesothelioma

Mesothelioma is an aggressive type of cancer caused by exposure to asbestos. It commonly affects the lining of the lungs and the abdominal cavity, and is typically diagnosed in individuals who have worked in an environment where asbestos exposure is likely. Treatment for mesothelioma can range from surgery, radiation and chemotherapy, though prognosis is typically poor due to the cancer's aggressive nature. Research is ongoing to better understand mesothelioma, and to find new treatments to help improve outcomes for those affected by it.
