Maxilla

The maxilla is a bone of the face, located in the upper part of the jaw. It forms part of the facial skeleton and is responsible for the shape of the upper jaw and the movement of the upper lip. It also plays an important role in the support and protection of the brain and the other facial structures. The maxilla is used in many reconstructive and cosmetic surgery procedures, such as in cleft palate repair, and orthognathic surgeries to correct jaw imbalances. Additionally, the maxilla is vital in the detection and diagnosis of many facial conditions. The maxilla is a key component of the human face and its proper functioning is essential for full facial aesthetics.
