Intubation
Intubation is a medical procedure used to insert a flexible tube into the airway of a patient in order to provide oxygen, monitor airway pressure, and facilitate mechanical ventilation. It is commonly used in emergency situations, such as when a patient is unable to breathe on their own, has difficulty breathing, or is at risk of aspiration. It is also used in certain medical procedures, such as certain surgeries and gastrointestinal endoscopies. Intubation is an essential medical tool and has been credited with saving countless lives.
