Breathing

Breathing is a key physiological process that enables humans and other animals to stay alive. It is the process of inhaling and exhaling air to supply oxygen to the body and remove carbon dioxide. Oxygen is essential for cells to produce energy to sustain life, while carbon dioxide is a toxic waste product of metabolism. The process of breathing regulates the amount of these two gases in the body, ensuring that an optimal balance is maintained. Other functions of breathing include regulation of body temperature and pH, and removal of other waste products. Breathing is also important for maintaining mental and physical health and emotional wellbeing.
