Anthrax
Anthrax is an infectious disease caused by the bacterium Bacillus anthracis. It primarily affects hoofed animals and humans, who can become infected when exposed to the spores of the bacterium through contact with infected animals, contaminated animal products, or the environment. Anthrax spores can be deadly if inhaled, ingested, or come into direct contact with the skin. Anthrax can be prevented through vaccination; treatments are available for those with the disease. It is important to recognize the signs and symptoms of anthrax, as early diagnosis and prompt treatment can be life-saving.
