Ankle Fracture

Ankle fractures are a common injury that occurs when one or more bones in the ankle joint break. Signs and symptoms of an ankle fracture may include pain, swelling, bruising, tenderness, and difficulty walking. Treatment for an ankle fracture typically involves wearing a cast or splint and performing physical therapy exercises to restore movement and strength. With proper treatment, most ankle fractures heal within six to eight weeks. ?Ankle fractures may occur due to sudden trauma, such as a fall, or from repetitive stress over time. Recognizing and treating ankle fractures quickly is important to prevent long-term complications and optimize recovery time.
