Physical fitness refers to the state of an individual's overall health that enables them to carry out daily activities with ease and without undue fatigue. It is the combination of body composition, muscular endurance, cardiovascular endurance, and flexibility. Physical fitness plays a critical role in maintaining optimal health and preventing various diseases and health conditions. A physically fit individual is less likely to experience chronic diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and obesity. Regular exercise and physical activity are essential to maintaining physical fitness. Cardiovascular exercises, such as running, biking, and swimming, increase the heart rate and help improve cardiovascular endurance. To achieve physical fitness, individuals need to engage in physical activity regularly. A sedentary lifestyle can lead to physical deconditioning, which may increase the risk of various diseases. Simple activities such as walking or biking to work, gardening, or taking the stairs instead of the elevator can significantly improve an individual's physical fitness.
