Stress Response
Stress response is an adaptive physiological response of animals and plants to a stimulus, such as an environmental condition or a situation. It is the body’s way of dealing with a stressful event and can be triggered by physical or psychological factors. Stress response is the body’s attempt to restore a sense of equilibrium and maintain homeostasis. The physiological effects of stress can cause damage to the body, including changes in the immune system, endocrine system and cardiovascular system. The long-term consequences of such changes may result in poor physical and mental health. For this reason, it is important to understand how to manage stress in order to maintain overall health and wellbeing. A variety of techniques, such as mindful meditation and physical exercise, can be used to help reduce the body’s stress response and prevent potential damage.
